Joyce, James: Kamarazene XXXV (Chamber Music XXXV in Hungarian)

Portre of Joyce, James

Chamber Music XXXV (English)

All day I hear the noise of waters
    Making moan,
Sad as the seabird is when going
    Forth alone
He hears the winds cry to the waters
    Monotone.

The grey winds, the cold winds are blowing
    Where I go.
I hear the noise of many waters
    Far below.
All day, all night, I hear them flowing
    To and fro.

Kamarazene XXXV (Hungarian)

Hallom zaját nyögő vizeknek
Minduntalan;
Búsít, mint albatroszt, ha árva
Útján suhan,
S hallja, hogy sír a szél a vizeknek
Egyhangúan.

Sötét, hideg szelekkel járva
Utamon,
Hallom zaját zúgó vizeknek
Távol nagyon.
Folynak csak föl-le, meg nem állva,
S én hallgatom.
