Ha átkelsz majd
a Sztüx folyón,
minden emléked
a túlparton marad,
vágyaiddal, szerelmeiddel,
verseiddel egyetemben,
s bambán tűröd,
hogy Kharón  kivarázsolja
néma ajkaid közül
utolsó obulusodat is,
miből jegyet válthatnál
a Parnasszus
fürge Pegazusára,
vagy ha nem,
legalább beszerezhetnél
egy Kronosz karórát,
mérni a végtelen időt,
mit ott kell töltened.

When one day
you cross the river Styx,
all your memories,
together with your
loves, desires and poems,
will stay on the far shore,
and you will oafishly tolerate
Charon conjuring the last obol
from between your mute lips,
with which you could have
booked a ticket
on fleet-footed
Pegasus of Parnassus,
or if not,
at least have acquired
a Kronos wristwatch,
to measure the unending time
that you must to spend there.
