A Göncöl szekerén (Hungarian)

Derült az este, csendes, csillagos.
Túl minden szenvedélyen, lázon,
Én a Göncölszekerén kocsikázom,
Ott, ahol ember embert nem tapos.
A derekaljam: széna, illatos,
A Göncölszekér szénával tele,
Kaszáltak már az égi réteken,
S lelkemnek sohse volt ily fekhelye.

Hanyattfekszem s az ürbe bámulok,
Friss széna, illatos: a derekaljam,
A pici földtől be messze szakadtam!
Köztem, s közte ezer csillag-távol.
És mily csend van itt, milyen hallgatás!
Nincs berregés, nincs ostorpattogás,
A Göncölszekér csak úgy megy - magától...

A Göncölszekér biztosan halad,
Rúdja nem törik, fékje nem szakad,
El nem ragadja semmi;
Ó jó itt fenn az örök bolt alatt,
Az örök szénás-szekeren pihenni.
Lenn hagytam mindent, mindent, ami fájt,
Kelnek szívemben új melódiák,
A végtelenség árja szinte fölvet...

S mégis jó volna fejem alá tenni
Egy kis maroknyi édes anyaföldet.
