Illyés nem szerette Budapestet –
persze Budapestről nem szerette Budapestet,
s nem onnét, ahol szerinte a „jobbik rész” lakott.
Én idestova ötven éve lődörgök Budapest házai közt,
mintha egy kiismerhetetlen nővel élnék együtt,
akit épp ezért már túl jól ismerek…
A szerelem mindig is könnyen rejti a nembe az igent;
láttam a világ sok özönvíz városát,
de romokban csak egyet láttam, őt:
szürke füsthaja fésületlenül lógott a homlokába,
és szakadt bundája alatt tetűként másztak a tankok…
Míg élek, emlékszem, hogy rázta meg magát negyvenöt tavaszán –
a fényszoknyában strichelő, kis kurva, a remény
kacsint s rossz matracára hívja a jövőt: NA GYERE, ÖCSI!
