Ladányi Mihály: When winter comes (Ha jön a tél Angol nyelven)

When winter comes (Angol)I'm not looking for you by phone in homes creakingly closed, I'm only looking for you here on the street and among the coffee-house girls. Where else would I be looking for you, who had been hounded from paradise? When rain is pouring, I wait for you under bridges, in rail underpasses - I clear my pockets, they held only addresses where no one awaits me. When winter comes, the waiting rooms are warm. You could come that way sometime. You're the only one left to roam about in the fog, but by now you're also sauntering among the tourists, wriggling your waist for a painted scarf, your poverty takes you far from me… But whilst haze is dancing on the pavement, I wait for you in the warmth of the station, for after all you, too, are looking for someone: I see the blood-soaked bandage on your life!
