Balaton (Angol)I didn’t want it to be autumn here again here where we are even the garden agrees as the fleeting forbidden time stopped and then it took us beyond the nodding berry trees the setting dusk proposing to linger on longer while you stare and get up to descend to the pier deckchairs inside with lights turned down we must hurry it’s autumn afternoon’s end nowhere to go but I have packed up to run we’ll forget something here one day anyway the wall is burning in the autumnal sun stolen day like our bodies the other day
I didn’t want it to be autumn here again this long thread it should be pulled out don’t you think I am thirty-three what can we do and when should we pull the thread out you say in a blink as long as you shall still love me as I age just like the garden bit by bit in its plight my head’s on your lap, just not at this stage when the reed bends down and I never caught sight of the weather when it’s time to change the shades of leaves just like your eyes sometimes turn brown sometimes when love declares its colored cascades and throws me ashore with a dark green frown
I didn’t want it to be autumn here again for tart tasting fruit to catch up with us the road turned but now the trees sprinkle the lane departure is too long so don’t let it be final here carry me with you instead if it must turn and reach the finish line let it subside what still beckons us ahead let it be the end of this magic design that holds us back – the road cannot wind its way to start anew the journey and shed our wish to stay and roam as it cannot find its step unless your feet touch the water’s edge.
