Als dann die Lust kam, war ich nicht bereit.
Sie kam zu früh, zu spät, kam einfach nicht gelegen.
Ich hatte grad zu tun, deswegen
war ich, als da die Lust kam, nicht bereit.

Die Lust kam unerwartet. Ich war nicht bereit.
Sie kam so kraß, so unbedingt, so eilig.
Ich war ihr nicht, nicht meine Ruhe, heilig.
Da kam die Lust, und ich war nicht bereit.

Die Lust war da, doch ich war nicht bereit.
Sie stand im Raum. Ich ließ sie darin stehen.
Sie seufzte auf und wandte sich zum Gehen.
Noch als sie wegging, tat es mir kaum leid.
Erst als sie wegblieb, blieb mir für sie Zeit.

Az öröm jött, s nem voltam az örömre kész.
Túl korán, túl későn jött, sohasem kapóra.
Sosem volt alkalmas az óra,
nem voltam, ha jött, még örömre kész,

Váratlanul jött. Nem voltam semmire kész.
Vadul jött, hirtelen, lélekszakadva.
Nem volt nyugalmam felkészítve arra.
Jött az öröm, s én nem voltam fogadni kész.

Ott volt, s én nem voltam fogadni kész.
Szobámban állt, s én ácsorogni hagytam.
Sóhajtott, s ment volna, marasztalatlan.
Már ment el, s még azt hittem: Semmi vész.
Túl későn volt időm kérdezni: Hova mész?
