Dickinson, Emily: Nem jártam lápokon (I never saw a moor in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

I never saw a moor (English)

I never saw a moor,
I never saw the sea;
Yet know I how the heather looks,
And what a wave must be.

I never spoke with God,
Nor visited in heaven;
Yet certain am I of the spot
As if the chart were given.

Nem jártam lápokon (Hungarian)

Nem jártam lápokon,
Nem jártam tengeren;
Mi a hanga, mégis tudom,
S hogy a hullám milyen.

Velem nem szólt az Úr,
Mennyben sem jártam én;
De az a táj, vitatlanul,
S térképe – az enyém.
