Dickinson, Emily: Falevél mind mint Nő cseveg (The Leaves like Women interchange in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily
Portre of Israel Efraim

Back to the translator

The Leaves like Women interchange (English)

The Leaves like Women interchange
Exclusive Confidence—
Somewhat of nods and somewhat
Portentous inference.

The Parties in both cases
Enjoining secrecy—
Inviolable compact
To notoriety.

Falevél mind mint Nő cseveg (Hungarian)

Falevél mind mint Nő cseveg
— Kétszemélyes Titok —
Intés, bólintás valami
Roppant fontos dolog.

A két Fél itt is, ott is
A titkot élvezi —
Zárt kompakt — ami benne van
Csak madár csicseregheti.

..................
A második strófa alternatív fordítása:

A Felek itt is, ott is
Jól titkot tartanak —
Zárt kompakt — ami benne van
Csicsergik madarak.

...............................
A fordítás elég szabados, azon kívül nem tudom, jól értelmeztem-e a verset; jó lenne, ha mások is lefordítanák. – A compact szó többek között kis, tükrös púdertartó dobozt is jelent, akárcsak magyarul.
