Dickinson, Emily: Tollas kis jószág a remény ('Hope' is the thing with feathers in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

'Hope' is the thing with feathers (English)

'Hope' is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Tollas kis jószág a remény (Hungarian)

Tollas kis jószág a remény,
Lelkünk ágára ül,
Fújja szövegtelen dalát,
És sosem némul el,

S legjobban orkánban hallani:
S ugyan ádáz vihar,
Mit túl nem zeng e sokakat
Melengető madár.

Fagyos földön hallgattam őt
És távol tengeren,
De tőlem morzsát sose kért
Végínségébe sem.
