Dickinson, Emily: Jó Alabástrom Rekeszekben (Safe in their Alabaster Chambers in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

Safe in their Alabaster Chambers (English)

Safe in their Alabaster Chambers —
Untouched by Morning
And untouched by Noon —
Sleep the meek members of the Resurrection —
Rafter of satin,
And Roof of stone.

Light laughs the breeze
In her Castle above them —
Babbles the Bee in a stolid Ear,
Pipe the Sweet Birds in ignorant cadence —
Ah, what sagacity perished here!

Grand go the years in the crescent above them;
Worlds scoop their arcs, and firmaments row,
Diadems drop and Doges surrender,
Soundless as dots on a disk of snow.

(1859)

  Szövegváltozat:

Safe in their alabaster chambers,
Untouched by morning and untouched by noon,
Sleep the meek members of the resurrection,
Rafter of satin, and roof of stone.

Light laughs the breeze in her castle of sunshine ;
Babbles the bee in a stolid ear ;
Pipe the sweet birds in ignorant cadence, —
Ah, what sagacity perished here !

Grand go the years in the crescent above them ;
Worlds scoop their arcs, and firmaments row,
Diadems drop and Doges surrender,
Soundless as dots on a disk of snow.

Jó Alabástrom Rekeszekben (Hungarian)

Jó Alabástrom Rekeszekben —
Hajnali Fényről
S Délről se tudón —
Húny a Feltámadás szelíd csapatja —
Szatén Gerenda,
És Kőplafon.

Kacag a szél
Fölöttük Vára Fokán —
Süket a Fül mibe zúg a Méh,
Dilettáns ritmust zeng a Madárhad, —
Mily nagy eszesség lett semmivé!

Tűnnek az évek a holdba fölöttük;
Világok íve, a menny csupa rom,
Dózsék leköszönnek hull Diadémjuk,
Némán mint pöttyök a szűz havon.

Jó alabástrom bunkerekben,
Hajnali fényről s délről se tudón —
Húny a feltámadás szelíd csapatja —
Szatén gerenda, és kőplafon.

Kacag a szél nap-vára fokán fent —
Süket a Fül mibe fecseg a Méh,
Dilettáns ritmust zeng a madárhad, —
Mily nagy eszesség lett semmivé!

Tűnnek az évek a holdba fölöttük;
Világok íve, a menny csupa rom,
