Dickinson, Emily: (Van „lába” Évnek? Nem biztos —) ((I could not prove the Years had feet —) in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily
Portre of Israel Efraim

Back to the translator

(I could not prove the Years had feet —) (English)

I could not prove the Years had feet —
Yet confident they run
Am I, from symptoms that are past
And Series that are done —

I find my feet have further Goals —
I smile upon the Aims
That felt so ample — Yesterday —
Today's — have vaster claims —

I do not doubt the self I was
Was competent to me —
But something awkward in the fit —
Proves that — outgrown — I see —

(Van „lába” Évnek? Nem biztos —) (Hungarian)

Van „lába” Évnek? Nem biztos —
De futni fut, rohan
Elmúlt jelekből hihetem
S Szériákat fogan —

Lábamnak van még Célja száz —
Rajtuk én kuncogok
Hogy mely Tegnap oly hű-de volt —
Mára már — még nagyobb —

Nem kétlem, énem ami volt
Az volt nekem való —
De mert csálén áll egy kicsit —
Kinőttem — látható —
