Dickinson, Emily: Míly lágy cherubi lények... (401) (What Soft—Cherubic Creatures (401) in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily
Portre of Károlyi Amy

Back to the translator

What Soft—Cherubic Creatures (401) (English)

What Soft Cherubic Creatures

These Gentlewomen are.

One would as soon assault a Plush

Or violate a Star.

Such Dimity Convictions,

A Horror so refined

Of freckled Human Nature.

Of Deity ashamed.

It's such a common Glory

A Fisherman's Degree.

Redemption, Brittle Lady

Be so ashamed of Thee.

Míly lágy cherubi lények... (401) (Hungarian)

Míly lágy cherubi lények

Ez úriasszonyok.

Éppúgy bánthatnánk plüsst avagy

Sérthetnénk csillagot.

Nyomott pamut hitelvek,

Borzasztó mind ami

Szeplős ember-természet.

S szégyen az isteni.

Egy halászember rangja

Oly köznapi dolog.

Megváltónk, kényes hölgyeim,

Pirúl miattatok.
