Ginsberg, Allen: Keleti ballada (An Eastern Ballad in Hungarian)

Portre of Ginsberg, Allen

An Eastern Ballad (English)

I speak of love that comes to mind:
The moon is faithful, although blind;
She moves in thought she cannot speak.
Perfect care has made her bleak.

I never dreamed the sea so deep,
The earth so dark; so long my sleep,
I have become another child.
I wake to see the world go wild.

Keleti ballada (Hungarian)

Góz Adrienn fordítása:

Szeretet, mi fejembe’ jár:
A hold hű, noha vak sugár,
Gondolatát nem mondja meg.
Sápadt, mert aggódik s hideg.

A tenger mély, álmodtam-e?
Békém nagy, s a föld fekete,
Amivé lettem: új gyerek.
Ádáz világra ébredek.

Efraim Israel fordítása:

Amiről szólok: szerelem.
A hold hű csakhogy vaksi szem,
És ki nem mondott gondolat;
Az aggódástól sápatag.

Álmomban nem volt szörnyü mély
A tenger, sem a föld sekély.
Én más vagyok már, más gyerek,
Vadult világra ébredek.
