Rossetti, Christina Georgina: Ha meghaltam már (When I am dead in Hungarian)

Portre of Rossetti, Christina Georgina

When I am dead (English)

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain;
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

Ha meghaltam már (Hungarian)

Ha meghaltam már, édes,

ne zengd siralmadat,

fejhez ne ültess rózsafát,

se ciprust, árnyasat:

záportól harmatozzék

zöld fű fejem felett:

ha akarsz, emlékezz rám,

s ha nem akarsz, feledj.

Nem látom majd az árnyat,

esőt nem érzek én,

nem búsulok a csalogány

kesergő énekén:

álmodva félhomályban,

mi föl-le nem lebeg,

szivem tán visszagondol,

s az is lehet, feled.
