Ferlinghetti, Lawrence: Nevetségességet kockáztat folyton (#15) (Constantly Risking Absurdity (#15) in Hungarian)

Portre of Ferlinghetti, Lawrence

Back to the translator

Constantly Risking Absurdity (#15) (English)

Constantly risking absurdity
                                     and death
           whenever he performs
                                    above the heads
                                                      of his audience
 the poet like an acrobat
                           climbs on rime
to a high wire of his own making
and balancing on eyebeams
                               above a sea of faces
            paces his way
to the other side of day
    performing entrechats
                          and sleight-of-foot tricks
and other high theatrics
                          and all without mistaking
                  any thing
for what it may not be

      For he's the super realist
                                 who must perforce perceive
                 taut truth
before the taking of each stance or step
in his supposed advance
                              toward that still higher perch
where Beauty stands and waits
                                 with gravity
                                          to start her death-defying leap

And he
     a little charleychaplin man
who may or may not catch
      her fair eternal form
                          spreadeagled in the empty air
         of existence

Nevetségességet kockáztat folyton (#15) (Hungarian)

Nevetségességet kockáztat folyton
                                                meg halált
                                     bármikor lép
                                                  közönsége
                                                             feje felé
a költő mint akrobata
                   saját maga
megalkotásának egyik magasfeszültségű vezetékére mászik fel a rímeken
egyensúlyoz szemvillanásokon
                                      az arcok tengere felett
              lépésben jut el
                    a nappal túlsó oldala felé
       szökell lábfeje
                     bűvésztrükkjeivel
egy sereg más felséges teatralitást játszik el
                    mindent anélkül hogy felcserélne
                 bár mit is
                    azzal ami az nem lehet

   Mivel a szuperrealista ő
                           akinek kényszeresen érzékelni kell
                a megfeszített igazat
mielőtt egyetlen pózt vagy lépést tenne
megálmodott felemelkedése
felé a még fennköltebb magaslat irányába
hol a Szépség áll és várakozik
                                     a gravitációval
                                                   halálmegvető ugrása kezdetére

  És ő
    kis charliechaplinlény
                           talán elkapja vagy mégsem talán
         annak tiszta örökkévaló alakját
                         elnyújtózva üres levegőjében
                 a létezésnek
