Hall, Donald: A sarok (The Corner in Hungarian)

Portre of Hall, Donald

The Corner (English)

It does not know its name.

It sits in a damp corner,

spit hanging

from its chin, odor of urine

puddled around.

Huge, hairless, grunting,

it plays with itself,

sleeps, stares for hours,

and leaps

to smash itself on the wall.

Limping, bloody, fallind back

into the corner, it

will not die.

A sarok (Hungarian)

Nem tudja a nevét.

Ül a nyirkos sarokban,

nyál lóg az állán,

csorranó vizelet szaga

Hatalmasan, hajtalanul, morogva

játszik magával,

alszik, bámul órákon át,

és ugrik

hogy nekicsapódjon a falnak.

Sántán, véresen zuhan

a sarokba vissza,

meghalni nem fog.
