Wolfe, Humbert: Rá se hederít (Daisies in Hungarian)

Portre of Wolfe, Humbert

Daisies (English)

The City Financier
walks in the Gardens
stiffly because of
his pride and his burdens.

The daisies looking
up observe
only a self-
respecting curve.

The trushes only
see a flat
table-land
of shiny hat.

He looks importantly
about him,
while all the spring
goes on without him.

Rá se hederít (Hungarian)

A honi  bankár
sétál a kertben,
mereven, büszkén,
gondtól gyötörten;

A margaréták
látnak ott
egy önimádó
alakot;

A rigók csak egy
fejfedőt -
Laposat, fényest a
fejtetőn;

Ő fontoskodva néz,
feszít,
de a tavasz
rá se hederít.
