Yeats, William Butler: Ha mennyei köntösöm lenne (He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven in Hungarian)

Portre of Yeats, William Butler
Portre of Kabdebó Tamás

Back to the translator

He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven (English)

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Ha mennyei köntösöm lenne (Hungarian)

Ha mennyei köntösöm lenne
Arany ezüst fénnyel szövött
Halvány és sötétkék fényből lenne
Éjből és alkonyból szövött
Lepleket terítenék eléd -
De lévén szegény, óvatosan
Az álmaimat rakom eléd.
Lépkedj rajtuk óvatosan.
