Blake, William: Napraforgó (Ah! Sunflower in Hungarian)

Portre of Blake, William
Portre of Góz Adrienn

Back to the translator

Ah! Sunflower (English)

Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire;
Where my sunflower wishes to go.

Napraforgó (Hungarian)

Napraforgó, fáraszt az idő,
Míg a napnak lépteit lesed,
Te, aranyló tájat kereső,
Hová utast az út vezet;

Hol a vágytól ifjú szív epedt,
És sápadt szüzet hó takart,
Felkél sírjából mind s ered;
Hová virágom vágya tart.
