Blake, William: Napraforgóvirág (Ah! Sunflower in Hungarian)

Portre of Blake, William
Portre of Israel Efraim

Back to the translator

Ah! Sunflower (English)

Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire;
Where my sunflower wishes to go.

Napraforgóvirág (Hungarian)

Időtől fáradt napvirág,
Aki számolsz nap-lépteket!
A vágyad boldog aranyvilág,
Ahová e vándorút vezet.

Oda vágyott el az ifju kor,
Meg a sápadt szűz, kin hó lepel.
Indulna mind a föld alól
hová virágom menne el.
