The Purist (English)

I give you now Professor Twist,
A conscientious scientist,
Trustees exclaimed, "He never bungles!"
And sent him off to distant jungles.
Camped on a tropic riverside,
One day he missed his loving bride.
She had, the guide informed him later,
Been eaten by an alligator.
Professor Twist could not but smile.
"You mean," he said, "a crocodile."

Tessék pontosan kifejezni magát (Hungarian)

Remek professzor Miszter Twist,
Magas IQ és pszichoteszt
— Így a rektor —, ő most nagyon kell:
Vizsgálja ki, hogy' reng a dzsungel!
A Kongó partján üt tanyát,
Hát nem leli menyasszonyát.
Kalauza leszól a gátról:
„Megette épp egy aligátor.”
A prof szája mosolyra nyíl:
„Neeem aligátor! Krokodil!”
(Afrikában ugyanis nincs aligátor.)
