Bryan, Tom: Vándor (Wanderer in Hungarian)

Portre of Bryan, Tom

Wanderer (English)

I’ve kissed ditches, man,
used drain pipes for pillows,
snored under dying stars.
Counted Orion down and out
in the cat-slippered sunrise.

And where the road met the moon,
I pissed human steam on frozen stone,
kept moving to starve the cold,
colliding with the sun.

as it called forth serpents
to share my journey.

Vándor (Hungarian)

Az útszéli árok ölelt magához, s én hűs
párnájára dőltem, homlokomon
szétmálló vasak verejtéke játszott,
s haldokló csillagaim fénye.
Az Orion sarkait számoltam fent,
a napsugarat vártam, hogy felmelegítsen.

S ahol utam a Holdéval ért össze,
emberi gőzt vizeltem a dermedt kőre,
vagy továbbléptem, hogy túléljem a fagyot,
s amikor végre a Nap pályájára tértem,

kígyókat hívtam,
hogy legyen, ki elkísérjen.
