Légy ostoba. Ne félj. A szép szabadság
csak ostobaság. Eszméink között
rabon ugrálunk, mint az üldözött
majom, ki tépi ketrecének rácsát.

Légy ostoba. A jóság és a béke
csak ostobaság. Ami rend lehet,
majd így ülepszik le szíved felett,
mint medrében a folyó söpredéke.

Légy ostoba. Hogy megszólnak, ne reszkess,
bár nem győzhetsz, nem is lehetsz te vesztes.
Légy oly ostoba, mint majd a halál.

Nem lehet soha nem igaz szavad –
jó leszel, erős, békés és szabad
vendég mult s jövő asztalainál.

Be foolish. Unafraid. Freedom's but a farce:
mere foolishness.  Caged, we jump, we hop
between ideas, notions, never stop,
and like caged monkeys keep tearing at the bars.
 
Be foolish. For kindness, peace as well of course,
are foolishness. What's order at the start,
will sink and settle down upon your heart
like floating rubbish along a watercourse.
 
Be foolish. If you're scandalised, don't tremble,
winners, losers, you won't even resemble.
Be foolish as is death: that final due.
 
You will not utter untrue words, you'll be
powerful, guileless, peaceful, and be free
to join at table past and future, too.
