Az utczán (Hungarian)

Tünemény megy az utczán végig

És halk moraj kél a nyomán.

Az emberek egymástól kérdik: —

“Ki ez a fenséges leány?”

A vén roué, megáll igézve,

Fakó arczára fény derül,

Mig perzselő tekintetébe

Vad szomjúsággal elmerül.

Akit csak érint lángja, fénye

Tovább megy, — visszanéz megint,

Lesújtja önön semmisége

Mint azt, ki villámba tekint.

S mig tovatűnik a tömegbe,

Lobogó fény kell a nyomán,

Aztán setétség száll a földre,

Mint égi jelenés után ...
