Öreg vagyok (Hungarian)

Öreg vagyok én már,
Fáradt öreg, tétlen.
Küzdés, nyomor napjaiból
Tenger időt éltem.
Küzdés, nyomor közt is
Volt egy drágaságom,
Elvesztettem azt is immár
Sivatag pályámon.

Hírnév, kincs, dicsőség:
Sok szép álom, fényes.
Nem tagadom, volt is róluk
Néha álmom, édes.
Ám való csak egy volt,
Az én drágaságom.
Most már az is álmok álma,
Arany ifjúságom.

Kutatok a múltban,
Nézem a jelenben,
Fürkészem az eljövendő
Messze végtelenben:
Lesz-e híre-hamva,
Jelzi-e nyom voltát,
Hogy ez az én földi pályám
Mire való volt hát ?

Fáradt vagyok, fáradt
S im tenni kell, tenni.
Gyötri testem, gyötri lelkem
Az a "sehol-semmi".
Fölöttem az idő
Repül felhő-szárnyon,
Alant az én történetem
Száll suhanó árnyon.
