Sebestyén Péter: man's seeping, away (az ember szivárog, kifelé in English)

Portre of Sebestyén Péter
Portre of N. Ullrich Katalin

Back to the translator

az ember szivárog, kifelé (Hungarian)

Pintér Tibornak

az ember szivárog, kifelé
a koponya hátsó falán
egy cserbenhagyásos gázolás helyszínéről
a paranoid alfahímek suhanó eleganciájával
a gyónás utálatos kegyelmében
a test kivérzett rebelliójából

- először a nők és a gyerekek -

hallgassátok az igazság trónbeszédét
a bölcsesség hullakékben fürdő hirdetményeit
a fölszaggatott agykéreg józan bordalait
a hamiskártyás motyogását: ego te absolvo[1]

ez az év április
március, május és bukolika nélkül
a lefegyverzett katonákon röhögő tömeg nélkül
szakáll és haj és testszőrzet nélkül
az állati vadság kék tetoválásai nélkül
szirének és könyvelők kék álmai nélkül
a tűzbe vetett anyakönyvek kék tintája nélkül
hang nélkül,
amibe – végül – belesüketülünk.

[1] ego te absolvo = feloldozlak (bűneid alól), / liturgikus külsőség, pl.: deinde, ego te absolvo a peccatis tuis in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

man's seeping, away (English)

to Tibor Pintér

man’s seeping, away
at the skull base
from the site of a hit-and-run accident
with the swishing elegance of paranoid alpha males
in the repulsive absolution of confession
from the bled out rebellion of the body

- first women and children -

listen to the speech of truth from the throne
in cadaver blue bathing announcements of wisdom
the sober drinking songs of the torn up pallium
the mumbling of the card-sharper: ego te absolvo*

this year april
march, may without bucolic
without the mob’s fierce laugh at the disarmed soldiers
without beard and hair and body-hair
without blue tattoos of beastly savagery
without blue dreams of mermaids and accountants
without blue ink of fired up registers
without voice,
which – in the end – deafens us.

* ego te absolvo – I absolve you
said by the priest at the end of confession
