Sebestyén Péter: Seven haiku (Hét haiku in English)

Portre of Sebestyén Péter

Hét haiku (Hungarian)

Döbling-mély az éj.

Cellád fölött a Tejút

susog. Lélegezz.

Széltornyok, ködös

esti láp. A lélek most

megpróbáltatik.

Kert alján ájult

rózsaszakadék, izzik,

izzik szüntelen.

Halálpuha, zöld

cirógatás; kívánnod

se kell a tavaszt.

Szűk sziklaszoros;

szellem-szűkölés száraz

szélsziszegésben.

A céllövölde

Tell Vilmost keres, de csak

alma nélkülit.

Fölráncolódik,

csapdos a lég; jég tükrén

halálszivárvány.

Seven haiku (English)

Döbling-deep the night.

Above your cell the rustling

Milky Way. Just breathe…

Wind-towers, misty

moor of evening. Now the soul

has its cross to bear.

Swooning rose ravine

down in the garden glows, glows

neverendingly.

Death-soft, green caress;

you do not even have to

wish for the springtime.

Narrow rocky pass;

yowl of spirits in the dry

hissing of the winds.

Shooting gallery

is seeking a William Tell

without an apple,

Wrinkling, lashing air,

rainbow of death is arching

over mirror-ice.
