Nem csapnak be az élők vanjai,

Kard pengéjéből nézem,

Ez az utolsó napom,
Nem csapnak be a holtak hantjai,

Ez lesz az első napom,
Minden hópehely felhővel teli, 
Jégvirág nő a kézen,
Az eget pajzsként kell tartani.

Sword on the ice all aglow,
I'm not by the haves of live men deceived,
Sparkling of sword on the snow,
I'm not by have nots of dead men deceived,
 
From blade of the sword I gaze,
I'm not by treasures of live men deceived,
This is the last of my days,
I'm not by mounds of the dead men deceived,
 
This day's the first past the end,
All snowflakes are filled with what the clouds yield,
Hoarfrost will bloom on the hand,
Skies should be lifted, held like a shield.
