Jász Attila: fable (mese* in English)

Portre of Jász Attila

mese* (Hungarian)

Hova lettek meséinkből a királyok, királynők, Szent Györgyök, lovagok,

oda a képzeletünkből.

fable (English)

Where have the kings and, queens, St Georges and knight with their dragon-lizards curled up by their feet like dogs got to from our tales?  Perhaps they escaped under pseudonyms and with new faces into

millionaire's quarters and into the advertising spots of the commercial channels. But we're not surprised, that is precisely where we seek them. Or to be quite accurate, we must concede that we have banished

them from our imaginations to there. And whilst we consider ourselves to be fully matured, we still believe ever less that kings and queens, knights, St Georges and dragons die as well, and that we, too, may turn into fables one day
