Duruzsoló tűznél (Hungarian)

Mint messzi China földjén vasúti bús karambol,
Ujságban furcsa hír csak, s nem tépi idegem,
Mert tán nem is való, oly messzi s idegen,
Úgy rémlik most az élet, amely röpül és rombol...

Emlékek látogatnak szelíd gyermekkoromból,
Tünődöm tűnt szobákon, szavakon, szíveken;
Emlék! sok drága szénrajz avatag íveken,
Szénnel a múlt üszkéből, finom porló koromból...

Duzzadva kél a hold künn az alvó, halvány dombról,
S ragyogva leng túl minden vak földi sokadalmon:
Zűrös vásár fölött szép, elszabadult ballon!

Nézem, s tünődő, álmos mosolyom kérdi: vajjon
A tűz duruzsol-e, vagy bánatomat hallom,
Mely karmait bevonta szivemben, és dorombol...
