A némán ballagó vízen

Tutajok úsznak szelíden.

Nekem mindegyik izenet,

Mely megállítja szívemet.

Máramaros, a régi, szép,

Melynek vidoran zöld vizét

Bámultam bús fiatalon,

Izen nekem a tutajon.

A messze zengő vén hegyek

S a vén sasok a bérc felett,

A fiatal Tisza s Sziget

S egy fehér kendő integet.

Egy fehér kendő: szerelem,

Maholnap szemfedőm nekem,

Alatta álmom folytatom

Az alvilági tutajon...
