Benő Attila: (through broken window) ((tört ablakon át) in English)

(tört ablakon át) (Hungarian)

Ők a nem kívántak, a könnyedén nemlétre ítéltek.
Velük egyszeri lehetőségek alszanak ki végleg:

Félelem és számítás motoz és kapar.
Nem hagyja lenni azt, ami lenni akar.

Magzatcsont-aprólék a szikla alatt.
Lélegzet, amely a mélyben elakadt.
Kiáltás, melyet senki nem hall,
mert már a hangszálakban elhal.
Lanyhul a borzongás,
fertőz a megszokás.
Elkenődött, vöröslő emlék felszárad.
A tört ablakon át friss levegő árad.
Egyszer volt lehetne – üveghegyen innen.
A helytartók kezet mosnak fehér ingben.

Omló jelen: anno domini mortus.
Ma ez lesz a negyvenedik abortusz.

(through broken window) (English)

They are the unwanted, doomed to non-existence readily.
With them unequalled unique chances for good and all perish.

Anxiety and calculation fumble and scratch.
They don’t let what wants to exist, just dispatch.

Foetus-bone splinters lie under the rock.
A faint little breath down there in the abyss blocked.
A scream that no one can ever hear
for in the vocal cords it disappears.
Shudders slowly lose strength,
steady routine infects.
Blurred-red memories soon dry up and go.
Fresh air pours in through the broken window.
Once upon a time could be – as in some tale stands.
Prefects in white robes keep washing their hands.

Crumbling present: anno domini mortus.
It is today the fortieth abortus.
