Beney Zsuzsa: Pictures (Képek in English)

Portre of Beney Zsuzsa

Pictures (English)

Picture on picture congestion. Cobwebs
above rough-woven sea-grass sack cloth,
barely visible, and those,
the edges and corners of which the wind

blows away: towers of castles in the air.
They glisten, but vanish from our lives.
The dark of our existence buried beneath them.
Or do we dream them night after night?

They slump on us. We cannot get away.
We do not know, are they the ones who pierce
our pupils, or mere reflections from the fundus,
or do we perceive existence where none exists?
