Nagypapáék
ezeregy éjjel
lapátolták
a földet Szibériában,
ástak éjjel, és
ástak nappal.
Fekete ruhák
száradtak a kötélen
tizenöt évig,
vagy örökké.
Van, aki már soha többé
nem mesélhet –
mondja nagypapa,
majd én  helyettük is
elmesélem.
Lapátoltuk
az éjszakát,
hogy végre
nappal legyen,
ellapátoltuk
a tudásunkat,
az érzéseinket,
a szibériai
tigrisek
kihullott
szemfogait
és minden
történetet,
hogy majd rátaláljatok.
Ezeregy év múlva.

Grandad's people
shovelled
earth in Siberia
for one thousand and one nights,
they shovelled at night
and in the daytime.
Black clothes were
drying on the line
for fifteen years,
maybe for ever.
There are some, who
cannot tell the story
ever more - says grandad,
I'll tell it
on their behalf as well.
We shovelled
the night,
so day
could come at last,
we shovelled
our knowledge,
our feelings,
the eye-teeth
shed by
Siberian
tigers
and all
the stories
so you would find them
in a thousand and one years.
