Bőröm sincs és csontom sincs,

belemen lóg a bilincs.

Holtak ültek mellemre.

Eső esett reggelre.

Tegnap este fát hordtam.

Mit jelent ez álmomban?

Csőröm vas és tollam vas,

én vagyok a szélkakas.

Horpadt égi bádogon

rőt rozsda a lábnyomom.

Hó esik a szívemben,

jégcsap mellett melegszem,

ledobom a ruhámat,

pőrén futok utánad.

Tallér voltam egykoron,

elherdáltak egy toron.

Most mint özvegy sír értem

aranyfátylas csengésem.
