A szárnyaló madarak százszorta
jobban ragaszkodnak
a földhöz, mint az óriás
gyökérzetű fák, melyeken a madarak
megpihennek, biztatva a leveleket,
hogy hazatérjenek, akárcsak
a jövő a múltba, elrugaszkodva
egy tökéletes trambulinról,
ami már maga az örök jelen.

Birds on the wing hold onto the earth
a hundred-fold more, than
trees with enormous roots,
upon which birds take their rest,
encouraging the leaves
to return home, much like
future does into the past, leaping off
from a perfect trampoline,
which is the eternal present itself.
