Strada di Agrigento (Italian)

Là dura un vento che ricordo acceso

nelle criniere dei cavalli obliqui

in corsa lungo le pianure, vento

che macchia e rode l'arenaria e il cuore

dei telamoni lugubri, riversi

sopra l'erba. Anima antica, grigia

di rancori, torni a quel vento, annusi

il delicato muschio che riveste

i giganti sospinti giù dal cielo.

Come sola nello spazio che ti resta!

E più t'accori s'odi ancora il suono

che s'allontana verso il mare

dove Espero già striscia mattutino

il marranzano tristemente vibra

nella gola del carraio che risale

il colle nitido di luna, lento

tra il murmure d' ulivi saraceni.

Agrigentumi utca (Hungarian)

Ott egyre tombol a szél: felgyúlva emlékszem

lovak lobogósörényére, amint

rézsút megdőlve vágtáznak a síkon, a szél

felkavarja s kimarja a homokpartot és a füvön

hanyatt fekvő atlasz-szobrok

szívét. Ókor lelke, szürkén a haragtól

e szélre figyelj, szívd magadba

a finom moszkusz-illatot, mely átjárja

az égből letaszított óriásokat. Milyen egyedül

vagy a téren, mely még megmaradt neked.

És még jobban gyötrődöl, ha hallod a hangot,

mely eltávolodik a nyílt tengerig,

hol már csak a hajnal fénycsíkja dereng:

a gimbárdó hangja szomorúan reszket

a szekeres szájában, lova lassan

kaptat felfelé a holdsütötte dombon,

s közben suhognak éjsötét olajfák.
