Természetesen, alkalmatlan időben.
(Terítetlen asztallal kellene találjon. Vagy legalább üres tányérokkal és kiivott poharakkal.)
Addig is tengek-lengek, téblábolok. Ímmel-ámmal, teszek-veszek,
Félelmeimet rejtem a sültes tál alá.
És ha eljön a hívatlan vendég, amikor a meghívottak elszéledtek, az ételmaradékos tányérok, ki nem ivott poharak között rám talál, fölényesen végigmér, és elegáns szótlansággal elkísér a házam kapujáig, és tovább,
ha volna még tovább…

Sure enough, at inconvenient time.
(He should find me with unlaid table. Or at least with empty plates and glasses drunk up.)
Until then I just potter and loaf around. Half-heartedly do this and that.
I hide my fears under the meat-plate.
And if one day the unbidden guest comes after all the invited have left, among plates with leftover food, glasses not drunk up, - he’ll find me, he’ll stare at me haughtily, and with noble taciturnity he’ll see me out to the gate of my house and further,
if there were any further…
