lemonade (Angol)you made some lemonade for me first you squeezed the lemon with care into the water of course you fished out the seeds then you stirred it to mix the sugar properly meanwhile it turned cold autumn outdoors you didn’t know lemonade doesn’t go well with autumn nor did you remember i liked it without sugar you even put some ice cubes into it my tongue almost froze you didn’t realize what the trouble was you were just fussing around kept watching my eyes wanted to worm in through one of the lids but i didn’t let you in any more so embarrassed you poured some more lemonade it already ran over the rim of my glass down onto the tray my gala-napkin couldn’t absorb it any more it ran over the edges of the underplate the table became all sticky, too but you only poured and poured the lemonade i told you but you didn’t hear i tried to gesture and show what was happening but you didn’t notice it was already streaming under the table it flowed through the cracks of the floor out from the room it flooded in the streets overtopping the sidewalks getting sour at the corners and you just kept pouring the sticky stuff into my dead tired glass and just stared at me wondering what the matter was you read out from some befitting literature to find some scientific arguments you’re good at making up mental ladders thirty-one i believed common years proved that slowly you also became scientific literature your book-shaped head and stumpy book-legs slowed down your breathing and so you didn’t notice at all how we both drowned in a glass of lemonade the last cold autumn day
