Lord Byronhoz (Magyar)
Rab népek egyikének gyermeke Köszönt ma, szabad eszmék hőse, téged, Kinek a sorsod szép és bús rege És a halálod büszke örök élet!
A gőgös Albion, kalmár hazád Megtagadott, bár legjobb fia voltál S tiéd lett minden föld s nép, mely galád Zsarnok alatt nyög s versed néki zsoltár.

To Lord Byron (Angol)
It is a child of a subjected land Who leans across to speak to you today, Freedom's hero, whose fate is fine, whose end Not death at last but immortality!
That land of profiteers, proud Albion, Disowns you, you the best of all her race, And you belong to peoples trodden down, Your poetry their hymn and means of grace.
Tall sighing poplars and sad willow trees Send you this song, this hymn of our resistance, Where rash intruders will not keep their distance.
So even in your grave you find no peace: At no time have there been such bolts and bars, So many goals and chains beneath our stars.
