The old Villon (Angol)
I have already out-lived death,
There's nothing more to be done.
In the shadow of the gallows
I played beneath the sun.
Anger was glowing in my chest,
Thirst for a better lair,
I was envying the pillow
That gave to working heads a rest
Yet I would not exchange my life:
The wanderer's life for me.
My wind-blown ragged coat, that garb,
Had seen much, I attest.
The devil may take me away:
That ugly, nasty friend.
Yet I am asking God, that He
Should come and close my eyes for me
As forgiveness in the end!
