Lehetőségek (Magyar)
Valahová megérkezik egy ember. Kilép az állomás előtti térre. Szemetet sodró szeptemberi szél fúj. Idegen ország, város – sose járt itt. Semmi varázslat. Közép-Európa. Csupa varázslat. Itt minden megeshet. Lehetőségek sűrüjébe csörtet. Találkozhat halottnak hitt hugával. Meglelheti az egyetlen szerelmet. Véletlenül lelőhetik a sarkon. Egy pincében aranyrudat találhat. Leomló házfal gyúrhatja a földbe. Fiává fogadhatja egy halódó. Apa lehet a városszéli parkban. Lehet muzulmán pénzügyőr-apósa. Megmenthet száz embert a pusztulástól. A főtéren még egyszer szobra állhat. – Másnap, korán vonatra kászolódik. Lehetőségek sűrüje mögötte. Megérkezik a kiszámíthatóba. Kilép az állomás előtti térre. Megbízható, felmért napok fogadják. Hétfő jön, kedd jön, szerda jön, csütörtök…

Possibilities (Angol)
A man arrives somewhere.
Steps out into the square in front of the station.
A trash-twirling September wind is blowing.
Foreign country, town - never been here.
Lacks charm. Central Europe.
Full of charm. Anything could happen here.
He clomps into a thicket of possibilities.
He may meet the younger sister he thought was dead.
He may find his only love.
He may be accidentally shot on the corner.
He may find a bar of gold in a cellar.
A crashing house-wall may knead him into the ground.
A dying person may adopt him as a son.
He may become a father in the park on the edge of town.
He may get a Muslim excise-officer as his father-in-law.
He may save the lives of a hundred people.
One day his statue may stand in the main square. -
The next morning he gathers his chattels and catches a train.
The thicket of possibilities is behind him.
He arrives in the calculable.
Steps out into the square in front of the station
Reliable, measured days greet him.
Monday comes, Tuesday comes, Wednesday comes, Thursday…
