Fehér-fekete (Magyar)
Élve dobták a kályhába a patkányt:
előbb a sistergő, narancsvörös láng
közt patkány-forma árny, később finom
rágcsáló-csontozat egy múzeum
hullámzó tárló-üvege alatt,
majd az sem. A macska-szaporulat
fölöslege vízbe, aztán szemétre
kerül, egy ázott gallér tarka prémje
darabokban, hamu és hagymahéj közt.
Közben a nap süt, kék az ég, a fű zöld,
fényes sörény, és mindez hihetetlen.
A tetszhalott, fakó gallyak rügyekben
törnek ki sorra, rangrejtett smaragd
tavalyi, sárga fű közt, benne a Nap
fullánkja, dél dől a gyomos telekre,
nyár lesz, tízmillió káposztalepke
sodródik seprő szélben, az elhevert gyep
fölött fehér, tündér atommodellek:
a pitypangok. Minden úgy jó, ahogy van:
ez a szem nézete. Holott az agyban
egy végtelen védő- és vádbeszéd
folyik egyszerre s szortírozza szét
– melyik ki mellett szól – a képeket.
Egy csont-jég laboránsnő méreget
pitypangot itt, patkányt ott. Egy fehér-
fekete logika – érv-ellenérv –
őröl, s zsarol, hogy el kell döntenem:
egész-igen, vagy az egészre: nem.

Black or white? (Angol)
They threw the live rat in the fire: at first a rat-shaped shadow on the pyre of sizzling orange-red flames, and then you may have seen a delicate rodent bone display in a museum, in a glass case, and yet as time went by, not even that. Unwanted cats end up in water, into trash go bright fur chokers, wet, twixt onion peel and ash, and in the meantime the sun still has a sheen, the sky is blue, the grass is green, manes shine, this all is hard to grasp, believe. Dull branches feigning death, and ere you grieve, begin to bud, emeralds push discreetly to the fore among the yellow tussocks of the year before, in them the sting of sun, the streaming noon floods weedy winters, summer soon, and cabbage butterflies fly as the wind defines, floating above flat lawns are blow-ball dandelions: models of atoms from a fairy land. And in the main all’s well, the eye decides. Whereas the brain hears endless speeches that defend, accuse, and sort apart – it depends on whose behalf they speak – what to accept, refuse. An icy-bony lab-girl’s sorting out the views. Dandelions here, rats there. Logic, so black and white, - many the reasons for what is wrong or right - it blackmails me, an answer tries to wring: do I say yes to all, or no to everything?
