Napraforgó(k) (Magyar)
P. B.-nak
Egyedül vagyok, mint a sárga
napraforgó szomorúsága,
s mint ki termett szomorúságra,
szólani szórt igét,
úgy szólom szét, marokra fogva,
fémes búzám – kit sziklafokra,
kit bölcsen termő talajokra –
talán a sors kivéd.
Mint ki termett szomorúságra,
egyedül vagyok, mint a sárga
napraforgó szomorúsága –
talán a sors kivéd.
Igéim – vérem szólva szórtam,
nem kérdeztek csak válaszoltam,
ügyetlen én (mindig ki voltam),
mint olyan, aki vét.
Egyedül vagyok, én, a napra
törő virág, mind magasabbra,
bánatom féloldalra csapva,
akár a sárga sziromsapka,
s ha majd e földi lét
kivet magából, hogy kiköpve –
kóricáljanak mindörökre
– mert visszatérés nincs a rögre –
hagyván halott igét.

Sunflower(s) (Angol)
I’m alone, as the golden yellow sunflower patch’s lonesome sorrow, as one begot to life down and low, to voice words lax and loose, thus by the fistful I’ll dispense them, my glossy grains — onto rocks barren, or fertile soil, treasured therein — as destiny may choose.
As one begot to life down and low, I’m alone, as the golden yellow sunflower patch’s lonesome sorrow — as destiny may choose. My words — my blood I dispersed loosely, I replied, though no one implored me, (such was my lot) haplessly clumsy, one forever accused.
Alone, toward the sun I aspire, flower stalk, reaching ever higher, my pain and troubles tossed to one side, as a yellow straw hat, worn cockeyed, and when this earthbound curse of a life chews me up, casts me out — to meander aimlessly about - once I’ve forever left the redoubt — leaving but lifeless verse.
