Voltam (Hungarian)

Sóhajod voltam egy röpke reggelen,
kihűlt ágyadban múló pillanat;
végveszély, letarolt búzaföldeken,
konkoly a tiszta ég alatt.
Lepedőd gyűrött illata,
illanó máglyaláng,
sorsod villanásnyi része,
útszélen kékülő katáng.
Lobbanó pipacsod voltam,
véremből csordult a nász,
vágy villanásokból vénült körénk
a perzselő láz.
Foglyod voltam egy röpke reggelen,
kihűlt ágyadban múló pillanat,
picinyke tollpihe gyanánt
feslett párnád alatt.

I was (English)

I was your captive one flighty morn,
in your cooled bed some passing time;
distress, wheat fields to stubble shorn,
corncockle bloom beneath the skies sublime.
The tussled odour of your sheet,
bonfire's passing flame,
part of your fate, a flash's worth,
chicory blueing by the lane.
From my blood, the bride brimmed forth,
I was poppy bursting to fire,
around us the searing fever matured
from flashes of desire.
I was your captive one flighty morn,
time in your cooled bed, gone in a puff,
like from beneath your fraying pillow
some tiny bit of fluff.
