Ki ül itt, ki ül itt,

ebben a félhomályban,

a halált gyakorolja talán,

hogy csak van, nyílt szemmel,

     leesett állal,

testéből sarjad a félhomály,

nyüzsgő, eleven óra, akibe

a halál és árnyéka visszajár

születni, s meghalni újra,

     ki ez a

se ide, se oda, sehova már?!

Who sits here, who sits here,

in this twilight,

perhaps practising death,

that it exists, with open eyes,

    chin dropped,

twilight springing forth from his body,

a teeming, lively hour, into whom

death and its shadow return

to be born and to die again,

    who is this

neither here, nor there, already nowhere?!
