Meredith, George: Dal a daltalanságban (Song in the Songless in Hungarian)

Portre of Meredith, George
Portre of Kosztolányi Dezső

Back to the translator

Song in the Songless (English)

They have no song, the sedges dry,

And still they sing.

It is within my breast they sing,

As I pass by.

Within my breast they touch a string,

They wake a sigh.

There is but sound of sedges dry;

In me they sing.

Dal a daltalanságban (Hungarian)

Száraz, nem énekel a sás,

s mégis dalol.

Amint megyek, lelkem csodás

visszhangja szól.

Egy húr remeg, egy suttogás

szívem alól.

Künn csönd van, ezt bent zengi más.

Szívem dalol.
