A kapu (Hungarian)

Így állunk némán, bronzba öntve,
Annak a kapunak két oldalán.
Opálos ég fekszik a csöndre,
A homokon lustán kúszik a láng.

Tudjuk, érezzük mind a ketten.
Üvegesen vibrál a levegő.
A fény mindegyre élesebben
Rajzolja vázunk vonalát elő.

Kétfelől feszítve az íven.
Végtelen messze sólyom árnya ing.
Állunk higgadtan, gyönyörűen,
S a lépésről álmodnak izmaink.

The gate (English)

Cast in bronze, we mutely wait - no rush,
By the two sides of a drawn gate we stand.
Opal skies are lying on the hush,
A lazy flame is creeping on the sand.

We're both feeling, know what it's about.
All around us vitrescent the air.
Ever more sharply does light set out
The outlines of our two shapes over there.

Stretching above, side to side, the span.
Far off, a falcon's shadow neath the light.
Whilst demure and beautiful, we stand,
Our muscles dream of steps that may delight.
