Én eltűnök már a művem mögött, 
Mint horpadt sír a virágok alatt 
Mint sápadt, elgyötört hajnali hold, 
Ha tért foglalva felbukkan a nap.

Én eltűnök már a művem mögött, 
Mint repkény alatt elsüllyed a rom, 
Mint délibábos felhőzet mögött 
Elrejtőzik a kietlen orom.

Virágok alatt ne keresd a sírt, 
Napfényben holdat keresni: minek? 
Repkény alatt rom, felhőn túl orom: 
Nincs abból haszna, élve senkinek.

Virág, repkény, napsugár, délibáb, 
Hirdessétek, hogy bennetek vagyok, 
S ki mögöttetek, alattatok van,
Az már csak sír, rom, halvány hold, halott.

I vanish, fade behind the work I'd done,
Like a grave's depression neath the flowers,
Like a pale and haggard moon at dawn,
When the conquering sun the space devours.
 
I vanish, fade behind the work I'd done,
As ruins neath the ivy sink to lie,
As a sombre mountain peak is hiding
Behind miragy cloudbanks in the sky.
 
Do not look for graves beneath the flowers,
For moon in daylight 'tis pointless to strive, -
Ruins neath ivy, peaks behind the clouds -
They hold no gain for those who are alive.
 
Flower, ivy, sun rays and mirages:
Let people know I'm part of you, be said,
That what’s behind you, or beneath you is
A grave, pale moon, some ruin, and the dead.
